5 Questions for a Feminist: Kristin

1. What is your name and role?

Kristin Perissinotto, and I am the National Director of Online Engagement.

2. What does a typical day look like for you in your role as an OWP volunteer?

I will usually start the day by replying to some Slack messages and emails, as I try to hop offline a few hours before bed and things often happen overnight. Then, I usually take a few hours offline to exercise, and get ready for and commute to work (on a week day). At lunch time, I might do my emails, write some content, fill out a spreadsheet, prepare for meetings, add to plans for the year, or similar. Most of my job is filling gaps where the team needs support and ensuring everyone is moving towards the same goal for the project/s we are working on. In the evenings, I almost always do some OWP work, which will be similar to the other things I've done in the day, unless we have meetings, then I will attend and run our national and team meetings respectively. I will be in contact with the Online Engagement and Brand and National team throughout the day basically every day.

3. What area of feminism are most passionate about and why?

I am constantly learning about the many areas of feminism, however I am most passionate about ecofeminism, women in the workplace (specifically corporate), and all things bodies (stereotypes, sexualisation, etc.). I say these three because they also the three areas I feel I am most knowledgeable about.

4. Why did you decide to join OWP?

I had been 'dabbling' with the idea of feminism for quite some time, and I felt it was time to take action!

5. What do you like to do outside of your OWP role?

I like to do all kinds of exercise (except yoga, sorry), see my friends (preferably no more than one at a time though), eat (but not cook), and I love a day or evening where I have nothing to do except watch back to back TV shows. I am also fortunate enough to be able to travel a lot - I love travelling to places that have cold winters and beautiful landscapes.
